Little white worm like things inside of cashew nut?

I was having a take-out dish of sauteed vegetables with cashews in it for dinner when I noticed very little white worm-like things inside of the cashews. When I broke the other cashews in the dish, I saw that some of them had these worm-like things and others didn't. Are these worms or are they part of the cashew?? I'm really turned off the food right now.
