Intel4 and Celeron D?

I have an intel pent.4 1.6 GHZ and am trying to switch it to a Celeron D 330 2.56GHZ. I'm guessing the mother board can't read the higher processor speed. Is there a patch for the bios that enables it to read it. In the olden days of computing the mother boards had switches to alleviate this problem, Now NIX.
